    Stroll through the picturesque little town of Wissembourg – it will thrill you with its medieval town center and the large gothic church, St. Peter and Paul. Wissembourg is located directly at the border to Alsace. A bike trail takes you from the Hotel Pfalzblick to the charming little town. Surrounding Wissembourg there are lovely wineries and top wines.

    50 Minutes away in Haguenau, historic buildings from every era await you. Souflenheim, known for its pottery, is located along the way.

  • Iron ore mine in Nothweiler
    In the St. Anna tunnel, narrow corridors lead through the red sandstone. Iron ore was mined here in the 19 century – until the decline of the iron industry in the southern Palatinate. Combine this excursion with a visit to the exhibition mine in close-by Wegelnburg, the highest castle ruins in the Palatinate.

  • Quiz course at the Fleckenstein Castle
    Close to the Alsation border at Lembach you can take a 3-hour quiz tour. The ghost of Hugo the knight needs help ... help him find his treasure and to rebuild his fortress. 20 life-sized scenes in the woods and in the secret rock chambers on this course provide an unforgettable experience for families. By the way, Fleckenstein Castle is lovingly called "P´tit Fleck".

    A multimedia exhibition and two themed trails – The water experience path and the Biosphere experience path with experimental stations – impart interesting facts about the Biosphere Reserve in the Palatinate Forest. The Biosphere House in Fischbach by Dahn is an outdoor project from the Expo 2000 in Hannover.

  • Treetop path
    You can prove how brave you are and see the top of the Palatinate Forest from a height of 35 meters on the treetop path by the Biosphere House in Fischbach. Walk through the treetops, balance across bridges or climb the eagle's nests. You can leave the trail by the 40 meter long tree slide. Everyone who would like a calmer exit can cross the 270 meter wooden bridge which provides you with interesting information about life in the treetops. Some parts of the path can be visited with wheel chairs.

  • Barefoot path in Ludwigswinkel
    Experience diverse barefoot walking – on sand, across a forest floor, through a stream bed … The trail begins in the Birkenfeld park.

    Various European animals romp in this 100 hectare nature park – from ferrets to mountain goats to wolves. The petting zoo and the adventure playground offer lots of fun for little visitors.
