3 wine routes – 1 unforgettable experience

The German Wine Route

With a length of 100 hiking kilometres (95 bike kilometres), the German Wine Route runs through the picturesque wine-growing region of the Palatinate and is one of the best-known and most popular wine roads in Germany. From Schweigen-Rechtenbach on the French border to Bockenheim near Worms (Germany), this route takes you through idyllic wine villages, magnificent wineries, and breathtaking views of endless vineyards. The perfect place for wine lovers who want to get to know the authentic lifestyle of the Palatinate.

German Wine Route Experience Day
On the last Sunday in August, the German Wine Route becomes a lively celebration of wine. During the “German Wine Route Experience Day”, the route is transformed into a car-free zone for cyclists, inline skaters, and hikers. During your holiday on the Wine Route try out the regional wines, savour culinary delights, and experience the unique atmosphere of this route without the hassle of traffic.

The Southern Wine Route

Just 25 kilometres from the hotel, the Southern Wine Route begins at the German Wine Gate in Schweigen and takes you through the southern part of the region. Mediterranean climate, rolling hills, and picturesque vineyards come together here. Savour excellent wines in the traditional wineries and experience the joie de vivre of the Palatinate people. The view of Mt Kalmit, the highest peak in the Palatinate Forest, is your constant companion.

The Alsace Wine Route

Not far away from our hotel, in Alsace (France), awaits the 170-kilometre-long Alsace Wine Route. Off the beaten track, you can not only enjoy picturesque wine villages and the French way of life, but also discover exclusive wineries. Fans of particularly aromatic wines rave about the Gewürztraminer grapes that grow around Cleebourg.
