Jungfernsprung

The Jungfernsprung in Dahn is a dramatic rock formation on the western ridge of the Vogelsberg and the town’s signature landmark. Its name recalls a legend in which a maiden, fleeing a marauding knight, leapt from this very rock formation to escape. Miraculously, her skirts billowed like a parachute, and she glided safely to the ground. A spring now bubbles forth where she landed. Today, the Jungfernsprung is a favourite viewpoint for hikers and climbers.
